sWebApps lets you build an iPhone webapp in minutes

sWebapps is one of the fastest way to build an iPhone app.. not to be called an iPhone app though it looks like the same and you download from Appstore. What it creates is a web app for iPhone.

To me it is similar to creating a link on my home page for a website. But this does not open up the Safari app. This is nothing but an app which has nothing but a fullscreen browser which takes users directly to your webpage designed specifically for iPhone (Probably using the iPhone webkit).

I am not sure about how the submission of app part works. I personally feel that is the pain point because Apple's site doesn't accept my binary. I am yet to debug what's actually going wrong.

Though it does not get a wow, sWebapps is the first SDK out of apple for developing iPhone webapps as easy as 1,2,3

see a demo of how to, here:

CSS - The C of Site Styles

I read about CSS some 5-6 years back. Then I thought this is just snippets of code using which I can format my webpage. But now on the web I see that all I thought which can be done only with graphical images and Adobe flash for things like the nice curved box with a shadow and small neat animations for menus and other objects on the page are now being achieved through CSS. Most of us know that AJAX is what drives the web smooth now. But CSS is one another silent winner which delivers you pleasing UI without the heavy weight JPEGs & SWFs. CSS is a simple language (or a supporting language instead) which can be used wisely to delivery rich user interfaces. My blog which you are reading now is designed using CSS. But there is much more you can do with it.

To see CSS in action, click on the designs in the below page to see how it transforms the page

Listed below in the link are the Basic things which CSS can do & which is the foundation of great things: http://www.peachpit.com/articles/article.aspx?p=434250

Paypal 's new logo - commented

www.webdesignerwall.com , A wonderful blog commenting on so many design things across web. I wonder people notice so keen on other's design as well. picky guys! We trust you on a nice UI in some site you make..

    Another nice flash site

I quite enjoyed surfing through this site. Especially the concepts section, as it had nice pics. As I surfed through, I noticed that this site was created by "Hello Monday", a Webby winner. Worth looking into (don't miss the concepts section)

    How People use Apple store!

YouTube user nicholifavs is using the Apple Store to shoot lip sync videos. He has done a dozen of these.

    Web Trend Map 4

Everytime I see this Image, I get amsued! I am part of the green line development. But, all of us contribute to every other lane in so many ways. There are some nice things to be noticed. I expected some more lines to connect to twitter. What does Obama do there in the middle? may be he passes the Internet Rules & Regulations. Ok, I am not holding you off. Go dive into the map. Take a deep breath! I wish I had a full blow up of this in my room!!

The high-res pic is also available here

Facebook is 5 times popular that Twitter

If you are one like me wondering why twitting is popular, it actually isn't. Facebook has 5 times more unique visitors than twitter. Yeah, I see that twitter is growing faster than Facebook. But twitter itself doesn't make much sense. I see the point that these two aren't supposed to be compared to one another. I heard someone saying that twitter will serve as the telegraphic service on the web (across web apps?)

It's everyone except Apple talking about it

First things first. Will there be an apple event this September? Will Steve Jobs be present there? next, will there be any announcement on the tablet? We all know that it is not going to come this year. But I would expect Apple to talk about it.
